QR codes for ease of registration
An important aspect of quality management is recording. Registering provides information, which you use to control and improve quality in your company. In quality management, all sorts of things are registered. From complaint to customer satisfaction and from improvement point to safety inspection. Some registrations relate to locations or objects. Think for example of building inspections, workplace inspections, equipment and machine inspections. In ISO2HANDLE you can easily generate location- and object-related QR codes. These make registrations extremely easy. Simply scan the QR code with your smartphone and then carry out your inspection or test via the same route.
How does this work digitally?
You can scan a QR code with your smartphone or tablet's camera. That code contains information (for example, a link or text) that you are sent to when you scan it. For example, a QR code can also contain a link to a specific registration form within your ISO2HANDLE platform.
You can attach a specific QR code to each individual form you use within ISO2HANDLE. When you scan that QR code with your smartphone or tablet, it automatically opens the form you need for that location or object for registration.
How does it work practically?
The important question is how to get that QR code to your location or object. That's the missing link you need, of course. The practical answer is: you just stick it on. In ISO2HANDLE, you can create a QR code per form. But you can also print that QR code with an Altec printer. Altec is the forerunner in industrial identification. With a rich spectrum of printers, they offer the ability to print all kinds of labels and stickers. So you can easily print your QR codes on labels and stickers that are resistant to the action of all kinds of external influences and impacts.
Application examples
How practical and clever you can use QR codes has been proven many times in our practice. How about the following projects?
Rentability scan
A lessor of recreational properties (vacation homes, glamping tents, etc.) marks each location with a QR code, to which an inspection form in ISO2HANDLE is linked. After each rental, an employee does an inspection of the property and any issues that affect rentability. Showstoppers for rentals are, for example, a non-functioning microwave oven, television or refrigerator. So a defective microwave oven is discovered immediately after the rental and reported via an inspection. The housekeeping department automatically receives a notification from ISO2HANDLE and provides a replacement microwave within a few hours, after which the property is again rentable. Since occupancy is essential for rental companies, that inspection and quick follow-up are thus crucial to success.
Warehouse racking inspection
A warehouse is full of racking that reaches as high as 15 meters. Those racks are loaded because all kinds of goods are placed in them. Occasionally, a forklift hits a rack when placing goods. This can affect the strength of the racking. Therefore, all racks are measured to the millimeter every month to see if they are all still in full working order. A QR code is attached to each rack, which is scanned during inspection. The results of the measurements are entered into ISO2HANDLE via a tablet or smartphone. If the measurements deviate from previous measurements or if measurements are outside a certain bandwidth, the system signals this. A notification is then sent from ISO2HANDLE to the technical department, which quickly puts the rack in question back in order.
Inspection of work equipment
A construction company works with a fair amount of different work equipment. Think of lifting and hoisting equipment, concrete mixers and other tools, some of which are electrical. The SCC stipulates that this equipment must be inspected at least once a year. The inspection is done by a certified body. Each piece of work equipment is provided with a QR code, which is printed on a weather-resistant sticker using an Altec printer. The stickers on the concrete mixers and poker vibrators are also resistant to the aggressive action of cement. By scanning the QR code, the inspection authority gains direct access to the inspection form. After each inspection, the form is submitted and the result is immediately visible in ISO2HANDLE. Rejected equipment can cause considerable disruption to the planning of construction projects. Therefore, it is important to have up-to-date information about the employability of work equipment at all times.
In addition to registrations and inspections, QR codes are often used in ISO2HANDLE to link user manuals and safety checklists to specific machines or devices. This is particularly useful when dealing with new employees, who will be working with these machines and devices for the first time. By scanning the QR code, those employees read the relevant user manual or safety instruction directly on their smartphone.
